Title: 1897 Botanical Prints, Vinca, Oleander, and Redhead Milkweed
This set of three original botanical prints from 1897 features the old maid (*Vinca rosea*), oleander (*Nerium oleander*), and redhead (*Asclepias curassavica*), published in *Favourite Flowers of Garden and Greenhouse*. These exquisite illustrations reflect the Victorian passion for botanical accuracy and natural beauty, with vibrant colors and meticulous attention to detail.
The old maid, also known as Madagascar periwinkle, displays soft pink flowers and glossy green leaves, capturing its ornamental charm. The oleander print showcases clusters of striking red-pink blooms on elegant stems, a popular plant admired for its resilience and beauty. The redhead milkweed stands out with its bright scarlet and orange blossoms, complemented by its elongated green leaves and detailed floral structures, reflecting its importance to pollinators like butterflies.
These prints remain in excellent condition, with sharp lines and vivid colors that have been preserved for over a century. Perfect for framing, they will add timeless botanical elegance to any interior. Ideal for antique print collectors, garden lovers, or those seeking vintage decor, this trio offers a unique glimpse into the artistry and scientific curiosity of the Victorian era.
