Antique botanical prints
Original Botanical Prints is a collection of antique botanical prints from the 1600s to the early 1900s: flowers, orchids, fruit and vegetables, herbs and spices, trees, palms and ferns, mushrooms and gardens, from Weinmann, Curtis, Sowerby, Van Houtte, Hoola van Nooten and the great fruit books.
Every piece is an original sheet printed in its own day, never a reproduction, and many are offered as matched sets ready to hang together. All are sold by Bartele Gallery in Langweer, the Netherlands, a dealer in antique maps and prints, and ship worldwide, flat, insured and tracked, with a 14-day return policy.

Good to know
Are these botanical prints originals?
Yes. Every print was made in its own day, by engraving, etching, lithography or chromolithography, for a herbal, a florilegium, a botanical magazine or a fruit book, and is sold as the original sheet. Nothing on this site is a reproduction or a modern print.
Do you sell botanical prints in sets?
Yes. Many plates are offered as matched sets of two to ten sheets from the same book, the same size and the same hand. A set is priced and sold as one piece, ready to hang together. See the sets page for all of them.
How do you date a botanical print?
By the book or series it comes from. The date shown is the year the sheet was printed: a plate of Curtis's Botanical Magazine carries its own publication date, a Weinmann plate was printed between 1737 and 1745, a Van Houtte plate in the 1840s to 1880s.
Where do the prints ship from?
From Bartele Gallery in Langweer, the Netherlands, flat between rigid boards, insured and tracked, to any country.
Can I return a print?
Yes. You may return any piece within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of the price, provided it comes back in the condition in which it was sent.
Which currency am I charged in?
Prices are set in euros. Dollar and pound prices are converted at a recent exchange rate and rounded to the nearest 5. The amount charged is confirmed before payment.
